This
day is to keep you abreast with National Women’s health initiatives.
In the morning, 8.30 – 12.30, there is a breastfeeding update. This will
cover pacing with a bottle to support breast feeding, tongue-tie, mastitis,
microbiome and medicines and breast feeding. This four hours can be used as
your 4 hours compulsory breast feeding education which you are required to do
every three years by the Council.
The topics for the afternoon themed around understanding and interpreting clinical investigations.
Whole Group Session include;
Venepuncture practice points for best results
Cultural considerations around clinical investigations
FBC, Hb and anaemia
Pre-eclampsia bloods
You then have an option to choose ONE concurrent session of your choice to attend ;
USS reports
Serology
Sepsis
Then one concurrent session from;
Urinalysis
Swab results
FBS, cord lactates and gases
