Smokefree support

Auckland DHB provides a professional and dedicated support service to hapū wahine (pregnant women), their partners and whānau. Supporting hapu mothers and their whānau to stop smoking not only improves the health of the mothers, but also the health of their children.

While you are under our care:

  • a Smokefree Practitioner can meet with you to discuss your smoking.
  • a plan is prepared together on how to become smokefree.
  • we can provide subsidised Nicotine Replacement Therapy (NRT).

We can also refer you to community stop-smoking services for on-going support once discharged.
