COVID-19 Guidance

We want to assure you that coming to the hospital is safe for all hapū māmā and people requiring care. If you need us, we’re here. We have developed safe pathways to ensure all patients receive the care they need.

We strongly recommend that hapū māmā needing care present to the hospital as usual and contact their Lead Maternity Carer (LMC) if they have any questions. 

I have no COVID-19 symptoms and am not a household contact of someone with COVID-19
  • You’ll undergo routine screening and will take a Rapid Antigen Test at 24hr intervals during your stay
  • You’ll be cared for in our general Women’s Health clinics or wards with appropriate infection prevention measures to help keep everyone safe.
I've tested positive for COVID-19 or am a household contact of someone with COVID-19
  • Let our screeners know you’ve tested positive for COVID-19
  • Please ensure you’re following COVID-19 guidance and are wearing a mask and maintaining a two metre distance from staff and other patients where possible
  • You’ll be cared for in a COVID-19 clinic or ward with appropriate infection prevention measures to help keep everyone safe.
I've recently recovered from COVID-19
  • Let our screeners know the date (or as close to it) that you first tested positive. You will not need to complete Rapid Antigen Testing during your stay
  • You’ll be cared for in our general Women’s Health clinics and wards with appropriate infection prevention measures to help keep everyone safe.
