Contraception after birth

While in hospital

You can ask for any contraceptive method to be given to you immediately after you have your baby before you leave the hospital.

After you leave the hospital

After you leave the hospital you can ring 0800 527 200 to make an appointment at our free clinics in the community.

Jadelle hormonal implants are available for up to six weeks after birth from Maternity Outpatients Department, Greenlane Clinical Centre. They are free of charge .A referral is required from your Lead Maternity Carer or GP for a scheduled appointment. For more information on Jadelle hormonal implants, visit the Family Planning information page().
