Being pregnant and becoming a new parent are life-changing events. We are here to offer support to parents and caregivers who are really struggling to cope with their day-to-day life during this time.

There are many reasons why people struggle during pregnancy and early parenthood. Stress affects people in different ways. Our service sees people whose thoughts or feelings are badly affecting their ability to live well.

The symbol of the aronui (cloak) represents bringing together family and other supports for the total wellbeing of parents, caregivers and babies.

We see people during pregnancy (from 12 weeks), up until the baby is one year old. People tend to be involved with our service for three to six months.

How do I get in to the service?

We need a referral (a request for an appointment). This usually comes from a doctor (General Practitioner or ‘GP’). We will take referrals from midwives or other healthcare services (for example, a Wellchild Provider).

After the referral, you can expect a phone call from someone on our team to help us decide if you are able to use the service.
